Friends Liz & Mickey
Liz makes another feline friend
Piano player long gone.
New Diggings General Store and Bar
Sorry Mickey, beer and wine is all they serve.
We headed across the road to bar # 2.
Piano looking for a player.
Indian looking for a treaty that won't be broken.
Mickey looking for a mixed drink.
For medicinal purposes, of course!
Our friend Ida. Psssst, Ida, turn around, a man is looking at you!
Discussing the next bar stop. Great brat burgers here. And the home made apple pie is good too.
Nancy spots the cheese store in Shullsburg.
They don't make cheese in Shullsburg anymore, they just put the old labels on cheese made by Swiss Valley dairy.
Off to the antique store.
Store filled with folk art.
What is folk art you ask?
Wine store on ground floor with unique shops on second floor. Liz was so intrigued by the brick floor upstairs, she pulled up a brick to see how it was installed. Frank's bar and restaurant located in the lower level.
At last, a mixed drink at Frank's in Shullsburg. The bartender works three part time jobs and sold Nancy and Ida the wicks you can see in the wine bottles on the bar. She threw in three empty wine bottles too!
We ended our bar hopping at Jake's bar in Scales Mound where Nancy bought lottery scratch offs and made friends with John, the bar tender. We bought a mug for grandson Jake.
A full moon greeted us in the driveway at home along with six deer in the front yard (maybe it was three and we were seeing double!!).
